My name is Justin Selvereo. I was born on June 9th, 1995. I was born in Jersey City, New Jersey and lived there for the first 2 years of my life. My name is Kerry Johnson, I am a senior here at Dunellen High School and this is my third year being in Mr. Kupiec’s creative writing class. He is one of my favorite teachers and I will truly miss him when I leave high school. Not only is he my teacher but he is also my brother- only certain people will understand that, sorry. Anyways I am a three sport athlete: soccer, basketball, and soccer. I have played each sport for four years and I have made varsity each year for each sport. I am involved in a lot of other activities such as class officers, student council, National Honor Society, National Art Honor Society, and peer leaders. After high school I really do not know what I will study in college, I’m kind of just hoping things will fall into place when I get there. And, who knows, maybe I’ll end up playing a sport in college, but I really don’t know what I want to do. We will just have to wait and see what happens. Well that is all I have to say about myself so, bye.

Hi there! My name is Katharine Margaret Lester and I am a senior here at Dunellen High School. Most people call me Kate but I also go by Kathy, Katie, and even sometimes Peggy, but not very often. Obviously I enjoy writing, or I would not be in this class, but I also enjoy baking, softball, long strolls on the beach, frolicking through fields of flowers, and European history. I have been a part of the Creative Writing class since I was a sophomore. This year and last year I have been an editor for the spectrum. I am also a part of the drama club and the transition project. In my spare time, I sit in my room and listen to music. Sometimes I will write while I listen to music too. I love the summertime because I love the beach. I also really like the country of England. When I grow up, my dream is to move to England and marry a British boy. I will then live happily ever after. I love the sound of rain because I think it is very relaxing. That is just about it. See you later alligator!

My name is Chuck Kemple. I was born on April 12th, 1996, in a hospital in New Jersey. Shocker, right? My actual name is Charles, but I have an insane amount of nicknames, twenty the last time I counted. Mostly it’s either Chuck or Chuckles, though. Writing is a lot of fun, but most of the time I’m playing Xbox at my house because the sun burns my skin. I’m kidding, by the way. I’ve been doing the sound for the plays and musicals for the last two years, so there’s something else.

My name is Stephen Van Ness. I am a student at Dunellen High School, part of the senior class. Ever since fifth grade I have had a passion for writing, and have seen my work increase in quality over the years. My writing is usually theological fiction, science fiction, and fiction, or a combination of the three. The biggest problem I have with writing is that almost everything imaginable has already been written. So I like to write the most abstract things that I can think of, and create complicated diagrams and storylines so that I can ensure that what I am doing has never been done before. That is my goal in my writing, to write something that is unusual, something that sticks with the reader. Not everything I write leaves a large impact, but I try my hardest to make it so. BOOKS 1. Grace Amodeo was born May 20, 1997 in Dunellen NJ. Ever since the day she was born, she had a passion for anything involving music. That all started, when she was very small, and she was introduced to clasical music. Over time, Amodeo has developed a love for singing and playing piano. At the age of three, she was able to play melodies of songs by ear on the piano, which provoked her parents to have her take piano lessons. In fourth grade, Amodeo joined the choir and started playing flute in the band. This was the beginning of the rest of her Until second grade, Amodeo attended St. Joseph’s school for the blind in Jersey City. It was there, when she developed her desire to be multilingual, since a lot of the staff there spoke Spanish fluently. In second grade, she started to attend public school, which was a major transition. Fourth grade was when her singing abilities started to be known by herself and others when she sang a solo for a choir piece. Her musical desires still enlarged at the age of thirteen, when she became interested in the guitar. Now, although not being particularly good at it, she is decent at a few chords. Music isn’t the only interest of her’s however. She has a great interest in technology, and knows a lot about how to use it. Amodeo also somewhat enjoys writing, and sometimes doing some sports, but exercising more often. Favorite movies of hers include “the Help,” “My Sister’s Keeper,” “The timetraveler’s wife,” “Mean girls,” and “Beaches.” Favorite books include the “pretty Little Liars” series by Sarah Shephard, “The Shining,” by Stephan King, “the Hunger Games,” by Suzanne Colins, “The Lying game” series by Sarah Shephard, and “Along for the Ride” by Sarah Dessin. Favorite songs include John Lennon’s “Imagine,” the Dixie Chicks’ “Cowboy take me away,” Psy’s “Gangnam Style,” the Band Perry’s “You lie,” and The Beatles’ “Not a second time.”
My name is Carolyn Doyle and I am fifteen years old. I was born on July 16th, 1997 in New Brunswick, New Jersey. I have lived in Dunellen my entire life and have been attending Dunellen High School for two years. I am half Chinese, a quarter Italian and a quarter Hungarian. This is my first time participating in the Creative Writing class. I contribute to the Spanish Club, Biology Club and Math League. Some of my favorite things include the color green, reading, writing, watching movies, and biology. My least favorite class is math. As for what I am going to do for the future, I am uncertain. What I do know is that I will always work hard to hopefully accomplish my goals. Writing has always been something that I have done ever since I was little. I believe that my writing skills have greatly improved through my many years of school and I trust that it will continue to do so.

There isn’t a moment where I’m not playing music or singing a song in my head. I enjoy multiple types of genres of music and I don’t really have a preference. I’m also a constant reader and always have something I’m focusing on. It doesn’t really matter to me if it is a book, magazine, or something online if it catches my eye I’m on it. With movies and tv shows it depends. I’m not big on dramas, but I will sometimes glance at them. Well that’s all I have to say about myself. Kate has lived in the same little brick house in Dunellen her entire life. She has two older brothers, and a cat. She likes to read, write, draw, and hang out with friends, but there’s nothing she loves more than going home after school and taking a long nap. She spends most of the winter hibernating in her room and wishing summer would come back so she could lay on the beach because she hates the cold and the snow. Her diet is made up mostly of cheerios and quick chek subs. Her favorite color is yellow. She’s secretly afraid of escalators because she’s scared that she’ll trip and her hair will get caught. She also, sadly admits, that she is a huge mallrat. She even works there. She loves music and when she’s home alone she likes to blast her music and sing along (badly) to Taylor Swift.

My name is Mark Switzer. I was born July 21, 1995 in Plainfield, New Jersey at Muhlenberg Hospital. I play both basketball and baseball here at Dunellen High School. My favorite of the two is definitely baseball and we came really close last year to winning our sectional championship. I have lived in Dunellen my entire life and so did my mom. However, my dad grew up in Brooklyn, New York. I enjoy sports because I like to compete with my fellow classmates and other towns. I can’t wait for these sports to begin so I can begin competing again. I am also a Peer Leader here at Dunellen and I am part of the Bio Club.

My name is Audrey Victoria Mongeau. I was born on January 10, 1996 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, New Jersey. I have lived in Dunellen for about 12 years of my life. The first four years I lived in Brick Township, New Jersey. My favorite sport to play is softball. I made varsity my freshman year, and have continued to play since. My position is pitcher, and I love it. My second sport is soccer. I quite enjoy playing soccer too. I tend to take my anger out on the other teams’ players when I knock them down. It’s a great stress reducer. I am also big on all things 80s. My favorite band and movies are from then. My favorite band is Duran Duran. I also love Tim Tebow, if some of y’all don’t know. Being only a junior, I have a year left of high school before I set out for college. My first college of choice is Gettysburg. And now, onto my favorites:

My favorite basketball team is Oklahoma Thunder and my favorite player is Kevin Durant, although I like the entire starting five of OKC. My favorite football player is Cam Newton and I’ve been a fan of his since he played at Auburn University. I also love boxing, my favorite boxer is Mayweather by far. I was born in New Brunswick on January 17th, 1996. I’ve heard that the most difficult year of high school is your junior year, and so far that has proven to be true. I have to work harder, and start looking into colleges early on, so I can actually have a planned future.

Hi my name is Lisa Chavez. I was born September 9th 1997 in New Jersey. I’m a sophomore. This is my second year in creative writing class. I have an older brother that is a freshman in college. I’m Hispanic and both of my parents came from El Salvador. I want to become a pediatric nurse. I love children. My friends think I have a bubbly personality and I love to laugh. They say that my personality is quite impossible to explain with words. I’m also a child at heart. I enjoy watching Disney movies it brings me back to being a kid once again. I love to have a good time to laugh. When I do laugh there is a possibility that I can scare people. When I laugh I make a very high pitch noise and people say that it sounds like a squeaky toy. I have many likes and dislikes but the last thing I like to do is read.

Writing is a lot of fun, but most of the time I’m playing Xbox at my house because the sun burns my skin. I’m kidding, by the way.

ReplyDeleteMusic isn’t the only interest of her’s however.

My name is Herga Zhang. I was born on July, 11, 1997 in New York, New York. My whole entire family is Chinese. My mom’s name is Mei Lan Li. My dad’s name is Jiang Bing Zhang. I am bilingual, speaking both Chinese and English quite fluently. I used to go to an elementary school in North Plainfield for one and a half year, and moved here near the end of first grade. It is safe to say that I lived more than half of my life in Dunellen. I met many of my friends here. I am in Spanish and Biology Club of DHS. The only sport I do is tennis, but I do plan to do Track & Field in the spring of my sophomore year.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite books include the Harry Potter series, Esperanza Rising, Shakespeare’s Secret, Hatchet, and The Mysterious Benedict Society. My name is Totiana Joye and I’m a sophomore. My friends describe me to be funny and nice. Sometimes they say I’m moody but I never see it. I love to sing and dance.

DeleteKate has lived in the same little brick house in Dunellen her entire life.
