Amnesia

A plane is flying from Australia to Los Angeles. As the passengers disembark, they start to experience amnesia–that is, all of the passengers except one. The farther they go from the plane on which they flew, the more severe their amnesia...

Create a story that addresses the above scenario. Develop the conflict and characters over several days of work. The tone and style of the piece is up to you; however, it must be a minimum of 1500 words and due at the end of class on Monday.

  1. Charlie had had such a wonderful time and was slightly disappointed about leaving, what felt like, so soon. He had seen so many amazing things and the airport felt so bland now. At least, he would be flying with people he had met while he was on his adventure in Australia. The person he had become closest with, Susan, was also staying in LA when they landed. Other people would only be there for a few days. It’s odd, he thought, that they had lived so close but it took a trip to a whole other country to finally meet. He stood in line, waiting to board the plan while Susan tore her bag apart looking for her boarding pass. She was in a panic; Charlie was worried about her until he finally noticed it, sticking out of her back pocket. He grabbed it and handed it to her. Susan’s face relaxed instantly, and relief flooded her eyes. “Oh my god, you found it. Where was it?” she asked, still a little nervous. He smiled, and informed her that it had been sticking out of her back pocket. A quizzical look appeared on her face and she could only mutter a ‘thank you.’ Charlie didn’t think anything of it then, people forget little things like that all the time. For Susan, forgetting things like that never happened, not even on her worse days.
Together, they finally boarded the plane and a couple people they knew joined them at their seats. A burly man called Harry, lumbered past them to the window seat and began to ask when breakfast would be served. This man was always hungry, food was his favorite thing and the last time he forgot a meal, he was seven. Not even in college, when all his time was absorbed by classes, did he forget to grab a bite to eat. A younger lady scooted past Charlie and sat in between him and Joe. He remembered her from a few safaris he had gone on. Her name was Sarah and she was a genius. She was always writing in a little notebook and taking pictures. Even more than that, she was always calling her parents to let them know what was going on. It had only been a couple safaris but he was sure she would remember him. He was about to say hello when the flight attendant made an announcement, “ALL PASSENGERS PLEASE SHUT OFF YOUR CELLULAR DEVICES FOR TAKE OFF. THANK YOU.” He had done it before boarding but Sarah took a huge gasp, “I forgot to call my parents and let them know I was boarding.” She reached to shut off her phone as she muttered under her breath. Charlie felt bad for her, but she would be able to turn it back on soon enough.

  2. He looked over at the rest of the plane and saw how few people there were. He was sure that after they were in the air for a while, he could spread out somewhere else for a nap. Across the aisle, he saw a young couple with a child, who he remembered was four. It was a little boy who was pulling on his mother’s sleeve, begging for the bathroom practically in tears. The father, Harold, looked over and said, “Didn’t she take you before we got on the plane?” the little boy, whose name was escaping Charlie, shook his head. The mother stood up and took her son’s hand, “I must have forgotten, we’ll be right back.” Charlie took across the rows in front of him and saw a young man, who was younger than Charlie and right out of college, he had been with Sarah but now they were sitting very far apart. The man was all alone so Charlie got up to introduce himself but a flight attendant was talking to the man. She pointed towards Charlie’s aisle and left. Then young man got up and walked towards them looking really confused. Sarah looked up, “Jonathan, I was wondering where you were.” Jonathan still looked dazed when he answered, “I must have forgotten where we were sitting but, now, I don’t see much room.” The pair moved a few rows towards the back and buckled up.
When the plane started to take off, Charlie closed his eyes. It wasn’t long before he woke back up to the sound of someone screaming. It was the little boy; his scream was one of sheer terror. His mother was trying to console him but he didn’t even want her to touch him. When Harold reached towards him, the boy took off down the aisle. Joey, that’s what his name was, Charlie reached out his arm and called him over, “Hey Joey! Do you remember me; we saw the baby kangaroos together?” The boy stopped running and crying and nodded his head. Charlie took this as a good sign and beckoned Joey over to him, “Why are you running away from your mom and dad?” At this question, Joey started crying again but the screaming did not accompany it. “I don’t know them,” is all Charlie could make out. Worried, Charlie pulled Joey into his lap and assured his parents that it would only be until the boy fell asleep. When Joey finally did doze off, Charlie stood with the boy in his arms and started towards the parents. They were both asleep, so Charlie carefully stirred Harold awake and gestured towards Joey.

  3. “Cute kid,” Harold mumbled, still half asleep. Charlie tried to tell him that son was not his son but Harold wouldn’t believe. He claimed that he had no kids and was living in the prime of his youth; a.k.a no time for commitment. Charlie tried to shake the mother awake but she gasped and scolded him for assaulting her. She didn’t recognize Joey either. Charlie’s worry increased as he set Joey down and moved to wake up Susan. She wouldn’t wake up; she nudged him away and just rolled over. Everyone was in such a deep sleep that no matter who he tried to wake up, not a single one of them would stir. He sat down and buried his face in his hands, his stomach growled and so he pressed the button for food. No one came out; he knew it was some type of meal time. Charlie waited and waited and finally a flight attendant appeared but she was stumbling and looked very confused. She was no longer wearing her shoes and her perfect bun was all crooked. “Excuse miss? Can I please see a breakfast menu?” She stopped walking and stared at him with huge eyes. She kind of reminded Charlie of a deer in headlights. Charlie looked at her name tag and repeated himself, “Sandra, could I please see a menu?” Her mouth opened into an ‘o’ shape as she shrieked, “How do you know my name?!!” Her shriek woke the rest of the passengers up but she ran away before she could be confronted.
Charlie looked over to Susan, who was stretching like she was waking up at home, in her bed. When the sun did not touch her face, her eyes shot open, “Where am I?!” Charlie reached out to her but she flinched and asked again, only it was a little bit louder this time. Charlie pulled his hand back and moved to a different seat. It was getting really weird and uncomfortable and Charlie didn’t quite know what to do. He pulled out a small bag of peanuts from his carry-on, and followed Harry’s motto: “When in doubt, grab a snack!” Thinking of Harry, Charlie looked over to him and offered the bag of peanuts. Harry put his hand up in a decline and said, “No thanks, it’s not breakfast time yet.” Oddly enough, it was past breakfast and Harry had declined food for the first time in his whole life. That’s when it happened, the nose dive.

  4. Charlie had always seen it in movies and read about it in books, but it’s not at all as he imagined. It was painful and very realistic. In the papers and on the news, people are constantly explaining tragedies and interviewing survivors. When they say that you have no idea until it happens, they mean it. Nobody really thinks about it or takes it seriously but Charlie discovered just how true that is. He slammed onto the floor of the plane and slid down to the cockpit. His feet hit the door, sending a shooting pain up his ankles. He could see other people falling too, hitting the seats in front of them or clinging on to the closest thing. They were all screaming too. Their mouths were making the proper shapes but Charlie couldn’t hear anything. All he could think about was how friends and families weren’t even holding on to each other in their last moments. After weeks of building friendships and getting close, it’s all gone the moment it matters most. Charlie leaned with his back against the door of the cockpit. He could hear crying and screaming coming from inside but he just zoned it out. Closing his eyes, Charlie imagined he was just going to sleep and when he woke up, everything would just be forgotten; just like what happened to the passengers, flight attendants and even the pilots.

  5. It was a hot Sunday morning as I boarded the plane from Australia back to Los Angeles for a researcher meeting, then I would be flying back to Australia for more research. All seats on the plan are filled with researchers and I knew it would be a long flight. The plane was delayed for a while because of server weather in Los Angeles. The plane finally took off. It took many hours to get there. We got off the plane and were told to stay in a hotel near the airport, but something strange started to happen to everyone expect for me. They constantly forgot where we were going and I had to tell them constantly we are going to the hotel where the research meeting will be held. The farther we got from the plane the worse it got. I was extremely confused and had no idea what was going on. We got to the hotel and everyone checked into their rooms. I got into the room and just started to think how strange everyone else was acting, I had no clue what was going on and I wanted to find answers, but I did not know where to even start. The next morning it was the research meeting I got up and meet everyone in the meeting room for breakfast then the meeting would start. During the meeting everyone had ideas and they were like nothing anyone has ever thought of and it was strange because no one ever came up with ideas like that. After the meeting I and a couple of the other researchers went out for lunch and some shopping. We went to lunch at a five star restaurant near the hotel then went to shopping at some of the expensive stores nearby. I was spending my money the right way making sure I was not spending millions of dollars in all the stores unlike the other people I went with who dropped millions of dollars in each store I really hope they knew what they we doing. I did not want to stop them because I did not want to be rude and tell them what to do with their money. We went back to the hotel for the research dinner with everyone. After everyone ate, dinner got out of control if was more like a party than a dinner. I sat at my table and watched everyone else as they acted like the animals in Australia. I was just so confused what was going on with everyone else. Only three more days then we are back to Australia and I could not wait. The dinner more like the party died down and we all went back to our hotel rooms.

    1. The next day was the second part of the researcher meeting; this was to tell us what research we individually are doing when we got back to Australia. The top researcher went around the room telling each individual person what they had to do. It took hours by the time it was over it was time for dinner. Once again we went out to dinner as a team, but this time we went out to a restaurant and once again everyone was spending almost everything they make on drinks and food. Confused and unsure what everyone was doing I had no clue everyone acted like this. The following days were exactly the same. It was finally time to go back to Australia and work on research. As we got closer to the plane everyone slowly started to remember why we were in Los Angeles, but they did not remember anything they did this week. We all got to the plane and waited to take off for our almost full day flight. The plane took off and everyone including me got on their laptops to look at their emails for what exactly they needed to do research on when reaching Australia especially because I was the only one to remember what I was going to be researching. They also looked at emails from the bank accounts and were extremely confused why they had no money and what they would be researching and why. Everyone asked each other what happened when they were in Los Angeles and no one could tell each other what happened except for me. I told everyone what I witnessed when we were in Los Angeles and no one could understand why they could not remember anything they did since leaving the plane when we got there. Once we landed in Australia we did some research on why no one except for me could remember what we did in Los Angeles. We could not find anything; we asked the captain of the plane if he would know any cause of the memory loss when they got farther from the plane. He told us it was amnesia and he did not know what the real cause of it was. We all split up to find as much research as we could on why this happened. We tested anything we found that could be a possible cause of it. We found many pages of what could have caused it. We did everything we could to understand why it happened, but everything we found did not was a result of what happened to the other researchers. We did find one thing that could be the possible cause of the amnesia. It was the change in air when we were flying on the plane. I was immune to the change when everyone else got amnesia from it. We figured it could be the only possible thing that could have happened, so we agreed it was the problem that caused the amnesia. There still is no specific cause to it, but we just assumed it could be the problem. We are now researching on how we can prevent amnesia when flying, but we have not found a specific cause or solution to the amnesia just yet.

  6. I entered the plane and I looked for my seat. I sat down next to this lady. This lady had blonde hair and blue eyes. She had perfect, straight teeth that were shown when she smiled. She looked like she was about twenty two and extremely excited to be on this plane. I looked at her and smiled as I sat down in my seat. She kept looking at me and I saw her out of the corner of my eye.
“Well hello young lady” I spoke to her first. In noticed her cheeks start to turn red. I noticed that she was now blushing. She then turned her attention to elsewhere and looked at someone who was entering the plane. I noticed a very tall man approaching near us. He seemed to be six foot five and was wearing a San Francisco hat. It seemed like he looked so familiar but I couldn’t figure it out. He sat down next to me, but the floor in-between us. He looked at me and I turned away and I noticed the girl sitting next to me was starring right at him. She would not take her eyes off him. I looked at him again and I noticed who it was. He was a football player for the San Francisco forty-niners. Then I thought, no wonder the girl was staring right at him.
“Hey. Do you know who this is?” as I pointed to Colin Kaepernick. She shook her head and then looked at the seat in front of her. The announcements on the plane came on
“How is everybody doing tonight? We are in for a really long trip tonight so you need to sit back and at least try to enjoy the ride. We will be taking off in about two minutes, I need everyone to fasten their seatbelts because we are going to be riding to the runway right about now.” The announcer hung up the phone and we started to feel the plane slowly move. Me and the woman next to me both put on our seatbelts and she looked out the window. I looked forward with my hands on my lap. I hate take off because I hate rising to the sky. But once we get into the sky, I felt fine. The girl turned to me and looked right at me.
“What’s your name?” she finally said after a long twenty minutes. I told her my name was Emma and she told me hers was Jean. I told her that my grandmothers name was Jean and she smiled and turned away to look out the window again. I looked right and Colin was sitting in his seat listening to music. We were finally in the air and now I was comfortable again. I laid back and put on my earphones and closed my eyes. I opened my eyes and saw Jean’s face in my face and it startled me. She sat back in her seat and looked confused.
“Jean are you okay?” I asked her. But she did not answer me.
“Jean?” I looked at her and she still didn’t answer me. I tapped her on her shoulder and asked her again
“Jean?” then she looked at me with a confused face. “Who’s Jean?” she asked me.

    1. “You just told me before that your name was Jean.” I looked at her again with a confused look on my face as well. “We just met, I told you my name was Emma and yours was Jean. Don’t you remember me saying that you and my grandmother have the same name?” Jean looked at me and you can see it in her face that she really sis not recognize me at all.
“I don’t know you. We never met and I don’t know anything about your grandmother, so why are you bringing her up?” She snapped “And my name is not Jean.” She turned to the window and asked why she was on the plane anyways and where they are going.
“We’re going to Las Angelo’s. Don’t you remember when you bought the ticket?” I told her. She looked at me and said she never bought a ticket. This was getting really weird. I then turned to look at Colin, but he wasn’t sitting there. He must have gotten up to go to the bathroom. But he left everything sitting on his seat. I waited for him to come back and when he finally did, he looked different then he usually did. I tapped him on the shoulder and he became frightened. He completely ignored me and turned around and looked a different location. I figured he didn’t want to talk because he was probably getting annoyed with everyone. So I brushed it off and looked at the people in front of me.
Up in the front of the plane, I heard a little noise and I looked up to see what was happening. People were throwing things around and freaking out because they didn’t know what was going on or where they were going. I rose out of my seat and went over there to see what was happening. They all started screaming where are we and running around. I looked around and no flight attendance was in the area we were standing. There were really no official on the plane. Everyone around me started forgetting everything and now I am on a plane with people who can’t even remember their own name. This was becoming more and more shocking and I was slowly waiting for it to happen to me, but it never did.
We have been on the plane for almost three hours. People don’t know their names and Colin is still not talking, so I don’t even know if he lost his mind or not. I sat at my seat, we are still in the air and I am surprised that the pilots haven’t lost their minds yet. I don’t know what I am supposed to be doing. Am I supposed to help them? But I don’t know everyone’s names except for two. That was Jeans and Colin’s.
Much more time has passed and I’m waiting for this plane to land. People were not starting to become quiet. They probably lost all their energy when they were flipping out before. I got up and looked around and everyone seemed to be sleeping except for Colin and Jean. They were both staring at each other. They did that when we first boarded the plane. I walked over to my seat and Jean turned away from Colin. Colin turned and took off his headphones and looked around and then at me.

  7. “Hey.” Colin whispered to me. It was the first time I heard his voice. It was so low and a nice genuine voice. I answered back “Yeah?”
“Why are we on this plane? I was asking her, but she doesn’t know either.” I stopped and got aggravated. He lost his mind too. Everyone on this plane has lost their mind except for me and I have no idea how to help them.
“Honestly, I don’t know why either.” I told him. If I wasn’t going to be able to help them, then I might as well just help them get through until the airport. So I started to play along with them because it was the only way to help them. I didn’t know half of these people’s names and they don’t know mine.
They continued to sleep. I noticed Jean and Colin were both sleeping now. I got up from my seat to go into the bathroom. When I came back, there was a lady in the front that awoke when she saw me and looked at me strange. I looked at her back with the same look. She then just turned her head and closed her eyes. We have been on the plane for ten hours and I am waiting to get off this plane. Then I sat back down and fell asleep.
I awoke and sat up in my chair. I looked around and I saw Jean gone and Colin gone as well. Everyone else was up and moving around. It shows that we are able to be unbuckled. I got up to look for them. But they are nowhere to be found. Then they emerged from the other side of the plane. They looked guilty. Then the sign started flashing that we need to buckle our seats because we will be landing. I sat down and buckled. So did Colin and Jean. We began to land.
When we landed, Colin and Jean grabbed their stuff and ran off the plane. I went running after them, but when I got there, they were gone. I was left with people who are started to get their memory back. Then there was nobody.

  8. My name is Kevin. I made a trip to Australia just to visit nothing special. I saw much of the wild life over there. I also visited the famous places to go there like Luna Park. I visited Sydney Opera House to go to some concerts that were taking place. I went to the coasts of Australia to take a dip in the beaches. Lastly I climbed the Blue Mountains. So in my prospective it was a fun successful trip and I wouldn’t mind coming back to this lovely continent. However like all good things this trip is coming to an end. I leave today but before I left I wanted to write in my diary all of the fun activities I did in my trip. I am on the plane now on my way back but apparently we took the wrong route in the beginning and we experienced some horrible turbulence. Everyone is startled and hurt minor headaches. Nothing to serious the good thing no one got seriously hurt. Normality has returned to the plane we are all calm. The conversations have changed we are no longer talking about the turbulence. The other good news is now we are only minutes before landing I can start to see the coast of California now which is always a good thing. So now we are stuck in the plane waiting for the go. That we can disembark the plane but some lunatic in the front of the plane has started some commotion. He is freaking out screaming and thrashing in his seat. No one has an idea why he is just yelling, “Get me out of here, what am I doing here?” As if he forgot or something. Home sweet home I am only eight gates away from taking my car back to my house. (Now in gate seven) what mountain did I climb? (Now in gate six) did I even go to the beaches in Australia? (Now in gate five) I wish I could have visited the Sydney Opera House to go to a concert.(Now in gate four) darn I also forgot to visit the Luna Park, or did I?(Now in gate three) What date is it today?(Now in gate two) where did I go to for my vacation? (Now at the last gate) who am I what is my name where am I going? ”Alright sis you many now get off the car we have reached the exit.” So I walk out wondering where I am. When I see a taxi driver holding a sign that said “Kevin”. Then I see him waving at me and telling me to come over to him. I arrive, “Who are you” “Oh very funny sir I will take you home now”.

  9. So with no hesitation I just wanted to get home to find out who I am. The car comes to a stop I’m guessing I live in this one lonely house I get out the cab and walk to my front porch. It hit me where are my keys? I pat myself down every pocket I have in search for some keys. When I hit my jacket pocket I feel a rectangular item, I pull it out it’s my diary. Not knowing who I am I read from the beginning to the end to find out everything I can about myself. My name, age, date, where I went, and what I did. While I am skimming throughout every page I come across my name and age and where I went, “Kevin 25 and I visited Australia.” I continue reading when I stumble up on this, “I am on the plane now on my way back but apparently we took the wrong route in the beginning and we experienced some horrible turbulence. Everyone is startled and hurt minor headaches. Nothing to serious the good thing no one got seriously hurt.” Therefore I realized we all experienced amnesia because of the turbulence. The man in the air plane experienced it before any one that is why he was freaking out he had no idea what was going on or anything. Everything started to come back to me that My name is Kevin. I made a trip to Australia just to visit nothing special. I saw much of the wild life over there. I also visited the famous places to go there like Luna Park. 10. “Flight 287A Los Angeles now boarding” The automated woman said over the loud speaker. The normal rush began and people pushed and pulled their way through the crowd to board their semi packed plane. Of course there were the usual business men and women in their suits Bluetooth glued to their ear. Specked in the crowd you could still see some tourists or locals looking to take a trip out of country. The passengers got on and the doors shut.
“Alright passengers this is your captain speaking, we should be ready to take off in a good half an hour just get comfortable. There seems to be good weather ahead of us and clear skies. We should be touching down in Los Angeles by about 5pm tomorrow. Thank you for flying Northern Sky Airlines and we hope you had a wonderful time out here in Sydney.”
Up in the “Business Class” section people sat quietly packing their things into the top cubbies and laying back into their recliner chairs. A few others pulled out their laptops and other electronics hoping to get some last minute work done. In the “Economy or coach Class” it was the complete opposite. People shoved to reach their seats or just to pack their baggage away. There were at least three kids yelling and some people talking obnoxiously loud. Trying to catch your sanity is the only real activity you can do back here.
Going back into the business section the hustle and bustle moved into overdrive from the new announcement. One worker in particular was ahead of the whole group and preparing another power point explaining the new deals he made while being out in Australia. This extremely hard worker ladies and gentlemen is Andrew Liven. He’s not only one of the top oil tycoons of the world, but is also one of the hardest workers you’ll ever meet. Literally the world is in the palm of his hand just from his quick thinking and smooth talking skills. This people pleaser can easily charm the money out of anyone’s pocket with his swift choice of words. His life is surrounded by his business and sadly he never has enjoyed the finer things in life, leaving him with little to no friends and a huge amount of money in the bank account.
Then if we skip to the “Economy Class” you’ll see not much difference from before. Everyone still pushing and shoving, but there is one person who sticks out like a sore thumb. Not because he looks different, but because he just blends in a little too well. Though his actions seem as careless as everyone else his eyes seem frantic. They seem to drift constantly back to the cubby he placed his luggage in. As if checking to make sure it won’t be going anywhere.
“Excuse me sir?” A flight attendant approached him, passing the other passengers who were now seated. “Can you please put away all cellular devices and turn them off or onto airplane mode for the time being?” She asked politely with a bright smile.
His eyes traced up and down the woman’s figure and he gave her a smirk. “Well of course I can Sheila. Anything for a beauty lady.” She blushed slightly as he pulled out his phone putting it into airplane mode. “Now may I ask your name?”
“Bridget. My name is uh- Bridget. Your flight attendant for today uhm yeah I’m Bridget.” She stuttered out flustered by the stranger. He smiled at her and gave a slight nod.
“Hello Bridget you seem a little nervous. I think you might want to sit down before the ride goes off.” He joked winking at her. She laughed slightly shaking her head.

    1. “Oh no I’m fine, but if you need anything. Press that button on the ceiling and I’ll be right there to help you.” She said with her cheerful smile shining. “By the way love your tattoo it’s very original.” He nodded to her and she happily walked away to help the others. This little charmer is Ian Reynolds the one man you should never trust. He’s a thief, murderer, and a genius wrapped all in one. How he got on this plane is a total mystery, but would have to be the result of lazy cops not doing their job. What he just got away with is a new heist where he stole 1.4 million dollars from a wealthy family in Liverpool. He killed at least 10 security guards and made it in and out without being seen by a single soul. He’s taken the money and is planning on fleeing to America so he could never get caught.
“Hello passengers we’ll be taking off in a 3 minutes so please get buckled up and we’ll be touching down in the states in no time.” The pilot announced.
      *14 hours later*
“Thank you for flying with us and enjoy yourself out here in LA” The pilot cheered over the intercom as the flight attendants helped people with their luggage. Andrew finished typing on his laptop and saved his document before handing it off to his assistant and pulling out his cellphone to send out some last minute messages.
“What’s on the agenda Scarlett?” he asked his tiny assistant as they started to walk back into the airport.
“There should be a cab waiting for us in the front entrance and you wanted your meeting scheduled tomorrow with the investors for overseas shipping. So once we get into that car you’ll have a free day.” She said smiling back to him.
“In that case I’ll be going by the office to do a few touch ups on this presentation.” He said giving her a small nod.
“But sir you didn’t sleep the whole flight and have been working from the moment we landed into Australia. Wouldn’t you want a small break?” She asked concerned.
“You do not make a name for yourself by slacking off. It’s either all work or none at all.” he told Scarlett with a small wag of the finger. The entered the cab and we’re happy to find their luggage packed into the trunk.
Ian just got off of the plane with his 4 rolling suitcases in hand. He was quickly making his way toward the front when a security guard stopped him. “Excuse me sir did your bags get checked?”
“Of course they did!” he exclaimed feigning irritation.
“Which monitor did you go through sir?” The cop asked still smiling.
“I don’t remember! I am in a rush you know!”
“Well I just saw you come off the plane and did not get checked once. This is standard safety precautions to make sure nothing bad comes through.” The officer looked down at his watch and then behind Ian. “Which flight did you just come off of?”

    2. “287A Sydney to Los Angeles. Can I please go now? I have to make my hotel reservation.” Ian inwardly was beginning to sweat and become nervous.
“Yes in just a minute. Can I see your ticket?” The officer asked with a tone that seemed to challenge Ian and make him become even more nervous. He kept his voice leveled and played the charade well.
“I actually threw it away once I got off the plane. My cousin Bridget who’s actually a flight attendant here told me it would be okay for me to dispose of it.”
“Sir come with me.” The officer said while walking toward the metal detectors. Ian slowly started walking into the opposite direction and then bolted off. The officer turned around and dashed off after Ian. Two more officers blocked Ian’s path and one grabbed onto him. They took his bag and found the money inside. “I had a feeling. Ian Reynolds you’re under arrest for multiple cases of murder and theft. I don’t understand how they let you onto the plane.”
“I.....I honestly don’t know.” He said while being lead out by the other officers.
      *Over the next few days*
“Sir are you okay?” Scarlett asked a distracted Andrew who was looking down over the busy area.
“Huh?” he turned around to Scarlett and shook his head slightly. “No, no I’m fine just not on the ball.”
“Well I only ask because you haven’t done much of any paperwork and cancelled 5 meetings. Also for the few you went to somehow you became completely distracted and changed the main topic from oil sales to Lakers statistics.” She said placing some files on his desk. “Are you okay?”
“Ever since we got off that plane. Ever since we left that airport my mind hasn’t been steady. I don’t know what it is Scarlett, but I think I’m losing myself.” He said glancing over at her then looking back out the window.
“You mean memory loss sir?” She asked feeling skeptical.
“Possibly.” He said rubbing him chin. “I think it’s time to for me to take a break.”
“How long sir?” Scarlett asked slightly worried now.
“Until my memory comes back. Until I can remember what I used to do here. Until I remember what drove me to even be in this business.” Andrew said completely determined. He spun around and loosened his tie.
“I don’t know if that’s a good idea Sir. You may not be here for a long time and what if things fall apart?”
“I have a brother don’t I?” He asked pulling up his brief case and taking his phone out of the drawer. “You will call him and tell him he is taking over. I still will get my share of money, but he’ll do all the business until there is word of change from me.”
“Oh okay.” Scarlett said taking out her phone.
“Also Scarlett you’re coming with me. Not to be my assistant, but to be my companion. My friend on this journey. Do you accept?” He asked hopefully.
      Scarlett smiled and then nodded.
*Scarlett and Andrew ended up never returning and continued enjoying new lives of relaxation. Ian was arrested, but then released seeing how he couldn’t testify in court and they didn’t have any stable evidence. They all lived happily ever after, sort of.*
