Today's assignment is a topic and format of your choice, the only requirenment being that it has to meet a 250 word minimum. Be creative and original. Due at the end of the period.
Off the Stool The stool is in position The rope is on the rafters Now for the user He decided it is his time No one loved him No one cared about what he did They ridiculed him For whom he chose to kiss It was his life to live He should have been left to be But it was not meant to happen He would be tormented for it They led him to this point It is now time His head is in the noose The stool tips over As his life is no longer able to last He is never to breathe again But left to sway in the wind
No safe Haven A home is meant to be a haven But for some that is not the case The place is coursing with anger The scent of fear coats the walls Tears soak the carpeting Dried blood stains cover the floor Violence is one of the many problems The father beats the children The mother drinks to block their screams Her eyes are closed to their suffering The children cover up the scars they carry Afraid to lose their family It may be a terrible family But it is the only one they know Again the father beats the children This time it is different though The youngest won’t stop crying from it So he keeps beating it The child dies Rage consumes the eldest son He ends the father Realizing this is not what a family should be Dispensing true justice For all the suffering that has been caused
I look at you and I can feel my heart melt I feel my insides shoot to the moon It bounces around and has fun It explores a new world where There is nothing that can hurt you Once I can see that I was deep in trouble I was blindfolded and I needed to walk through a forest alone It gets lonely and you get scared All you can hear is the crackling of the twigs around you You jump back and feel something crawl up your body The only thing is that you know there is nothing on you It’s just your imagination The imagination turns into your worst enemy Fear trembles the body But then you hear that voice That warms the heart The voice where all those things that scared you at one point no longer exist This voice reassures you that there is no need to be scared That they are there for you no matter what They will not let you down They will pick you up when you need it They reach and take off the blindfold You see the place where you thought was so scary is a place where there isn’t a thing to harm you It smells of just pure joy It has all those things that you like You turn around to see it’s the person you heart has always wanted Yes, everything is not always going to be happy But this person showed you even in your rough times they will be there for you Because they love you And they won’t disappoint No, don’t doubt your heart Just follow its path The heart wants the best for you because it doesn’t deserve to hurt anymore You don’t know the pain the heart has gone through For you can be happy Now go on and be happy
Dear Love, You think you’re always right but sometimes there comes a time where you sit in your room and cry to sleep, because you left the one you love behind. Look at you now getting drunk smoking weed. Why you chose that life over me? I gave you everything you could dream of, I didn’t do anything wrong to hurt you or make you tear. So why are you crying now? You the one that made this choice to drop me and be with another dude. Everything I did for you was real; I never meant to hurt you when I called my ex. The devil was playing in my head and my friend turned into an enemy and forced me to call. I lost people just to be with you, I told friends I can’t chill with them because I wanted to be with you. I but all the time and effort to be with you, but what do I get in return is you leaving me and hooking up with some other dude. I’m not going to hate you or dislike you. I’m never gone forgive you for what you have done to me. I planned our future and thought I was going to marry you, but you left me and another girl and she took your place. You’re unhappy with your life oh well. I can’t do anything because you made that choice. I guess I’m happy with her but I’ll always love you. You wore my first and you’ll always have my heart and love. Goodbye.
Last week seemed to go so slow. Even though we went to school for three days it was the longest three days. I didn’t do much last week, I just stayed home or went to my dad’s house. I went with my cousin to go visit my great aunt at the hospital. Than slept over her house after. My brothers and I went out to eat for breakfast and then after that all their friends came over to hang out. My cousin and I slept over my dad’s house and we all went out to taco bell for lunch. I hardly see my cousin because he never really comes over a lot. Than after my baby cousin came to my dad’s room and we all started dancing with her. She loves to dance. She is starting to talk more. She isn’t as hyper as my other cousin when she was a baby. My uncle and I made smoothies and food for everyone later that night. The day after I went home and cleaned out my room while my mom went out and my brothers were down stairs with their friends. Cleaning my room only took about an hour, but I guess that’s enough because I do have a small room. After that my brother and I went to the store and buy stuff to make a smoothie for everyone. I found a laser in my room and started to play with my cat and he was going crazy just by seeing it. I made him go in a circle twenty times and he couldn’t walk straight.
The school had been shut down for a week and this was the first time I was setting foot onto the school grounds since the shooting. I was still in shock from that day and I stood at the front door in the lobby unable to move. I tried shaking the image out of my head and began one of the longest days of my life. I got to the hallway where my locker was, the same hallway where Amelia had killed herself. Goose bumps crept over my entire body as I started towards my locker. As I approached my locker, scenes of that day flashed in my mind. I still could not wrap my mind around what had happened that day. The things I witnessed were mind blowing. My childhood best friend putting a gun to her head and pulling the trigger, it has to be one of the worst things a person could witness at my age. “Kara!” I spun around to see who it was and I was surprised to see my little brother standing behind me. “Are you going to be okay? I mean I know what you saw and it must be hard to come back to this school.” “Jeremy, you’re the only one I have told about this. No one else knows that I witnessed this or even remember that I was the one trying to stop her.” I said all this to him in a whisper. “I’ll be fine.” “I know you’re not okay Kara,” He said to me. Although he was my younger brother at times he acted like my older brother, after all, he definitely looked like my older brother. He was only a sophomore in high school yet, he looked older than me as a senior. “I still think you should go and talk to someone.” “Jer, I’m fine. Go to class, leave me alone.” I added a bit of attitude as I said this to him.
I love my team the Los Angeles clippers so far we are the 2nd best team in the western conference statistically speaking. We have the 4th best bench in the whole league again statistically speaking. We have good players like Chris Paul known as cp3 and Blake griffin but not only that we have Jamal Crawford and Lamar Odom also we are expecting to grant hill to make his season debut next week after suffering a knee injury in preseason game vs. the Miami heat in shanghai. We were known to be one of the most losing teams in the NBA throughout the years. But that all changed our best winning game streak was 11. But we broke that streak this year with a 17 game winning streak the whole month of December in 2012. In the 70s were known as the buffalo braves than the san Diego clippers after that we are now the los Angeles clippers. The reason why I love this team is the effort we put in the court and how everybody thought we was just this other team in the nba that cannot compete but that all changed when we drafted Blake in 2009. This squad means a lot to me and my mom which she is also a big clipper fan especially Blakes. My dream is to go to the staples center and have courtside seats with my mom and watch them play not just a game but a playoff game
Betrayal; One word that can change the way a person feels about another. If one person betrays another, problems start to splurge. For instance, when somebody gives you their word that you will not tell, yet go out and tell other people about that secret, you are back stabbing. If that secret was special to that one particular person, and it was not meant for any other people to know about it, then do not tell. One of my pet-peeves is betrayal. I had somebody betray me, and it is something that makes my self-esteem drop. Some people who are truly conceited think the world revolves around them. News flash, it doesn’t. Those narcissistic, egotistical individuals tend to make me angry. In the words of Hannah Montana “Nobody’s Perfect” but some think they are. Another one of my pet-peeves are conceited people. For some odd reason I do not like them. For those of you who are the conceited type, I don’t mean to offend you, I just don’t like the way you act. God made everyone the way he did, but it makes sense if you stand out from the crowd. Be the triangle in a world of circles! It may sound crazy, but it really does make sense if you take a moment to think and analyze that above sentence. Instead of thinking about yourself, for those of you who only do that, try to help out others, and set a good example for all of those other people. Thank you
When a child is young and is in the process of growing up they have a large group of friends, partially because making and keeping friends weren’t that difficult. Friendships back in elementary school were based on who was nice to you and who you had things in common with, in today’s world friendships are totally different. I’ve realized that when I was in the fifth grade, I could probably name about twenty people I considered to be a friend of mine. Now that I’m in high school and have two years down already, I can only name about five or six people that I’m close to. As you get older, you start to notice people’s true colors and realize that they weren’t really your friend from the beginning. The way I see it, I’m getting older and more mature, I don’t have time to worry about who is loyal and who is trustworthy. I guess the saying, “High school changes people, sometimes for better and sometimes for worse,” is actually true. It hurts not being able to tell that person things anymore or get advice from them, but life moves on and people learn from their mistakes. I don’t think I have it all figured it out, but I do think I’m getting somewhere. I often wonder how many “friends” I’m going to have by the time I graduate, and it seems as though every year my circle gets smaller. I’m actually okay with that because that’s less people I have to worry about betraying me. I was friends with one girl for three years. She betrayed me and listened to somebody else when they told her I was talking about her. I didn’t talk to her for about 4 months. I forgave her and we were cool, then just a few weeks ago she betrayed me again. Like they say, “Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.” So I just decided to cut her off and not be friends with her anymore. I haven’t talked to her since and that’s cool too. It’s a good thing finding out who your real friends are at a young age, and getting it over with now. You always know who your real friends are when you get into something serious. This shows you who is actually there and who will leave you to handle the situation on your own. Moral of the story, watch who you call yourself being friends with and make your trust limited, because the people closest to you are the ones that have the most access to hurt you.
“So what exactly happened in this dream you had?” she asked softly, or at least it sounded soft in my mind. I folded my arms across my stomach as I lay on the couch. I took a deep breath and thought back to the dream. “We were in the basement,” I answered, looking up at the ceiling. “There were other people there,” I paused, “but I couldn’t see them. I just knew that they were there. The only person I could see was this boy. A boy that I know.” I licked my lips. “We were trying to be friendly. We were trying to pretend like there was nothing wrong. We were laughing and joking around like we always used to, but we were both nervous. There was so much tension.” My eyes followed a long crack in the celling that went all the way to the wall. “I was trying to show him my class ring, but it was falling apart in my hands. The stones kept falling out and the band was breaking. We were trying to put it back together, but I started to cry,” I concentrated harder on the crack in the wall in and attempt to calm myself. The dream was replaying in my head like a scene from a movie. “He thought I was crying because of the ring, but it was actually because I missed him. I wanted to tell him so badly how much I missed him, but when I spoke he couldn’t hear anything I was saying.” My heart was beating fast. The crack in the wall seemed to be growing. “Or maybe he didn’t want to hear,” I felt like it was getting hard to breath. The crack was traveling down the wall. “He just kept trying to put the stones back in the damn ring, and I just kept crying and shouting to him, because I didn’t know what else to do.”
These eyes have seen the truth All the things that were supposed to be covered Every single lie that was supposed to hide in the dark has found a way out And they shined They shined brightly in a neon way that burned into me and changed my sight These ears have heard it all Every sugar coated lie and small fib was accepted They were all accepted without a second thought And now these ears won’t hear it anymore This mouth that once ran a mile per minute Not being able to hold back the feelings that were inside Ready in a second to tell “someone” how I really felt It now learned that some secrets shouldn’t be let out It learned that some things can be deadly in the wrong hands Most importantly this heart that used to love freely This heart that was fooled by Sweet words Empty promises Kind gestures Has now felt the pain This heart has been broken and is slowly taking time to rebuild This foolish heart of mine will no longer tolerate tricks And this is all because this heart has felt the pain It has felt the burn that seems to have left a huge scar deep within it This pain cannot be forgotten and this heart will do a good job of remembering that But now know that everything has changed These eyes will no longer be blinded by the world Instead it will look through all the smoke that could be blown it’s way My sight has been changed and most definitely heightened These ears shall not accept sugar coated lies fibs or whatever you wish to call them My old ears have been replaced with new ones that can tune out the BS and only look for the truth This mouth has learned to stay shut more often It has been renewed and now understands that a filter is needed for life Some things must be held back from those who don’t deserve it And to top it all off this heart has been changed in a completely new way Now this heart won’t be fooled and neither will the rest of me
Diamonds. So pure and clean. So beautiful and sparkling. So precious and treasured. But originating from carbon, much like charcoal or graphite. Those minerals were so close to becoming cherished possessions. But instead are used to start fires and write letters that will eventually be disposed of. But diamonds are here to stay. Nobody would even dream of throwing away or burning a diamond. So why something so closely related to the admired stone, not even missed when it is thrown into the inferno or shipped off in a black truck? Because that piece of earth was not at the right pressure or temperature when it was made into what we see it as. They are judged and not as valued because of something that is not their fault. It is the same with people. The imperfect people of the world are not as valued as the diamonds of society. But behind every gem is a story. Even the diamonds can have an ugly past. Yet we do not judge them. But once a chip is made, once that perfect person makes one mistake, they are an outcast, an enemy, a piece of charcoal. That’s when the judging begins. But even the judges are not perfect diamonds. They have their faults as well yet they do not judge themselves. This is the problem with the world. No one is safe from the judges of society. The judges don’t need a reason or a story of why that piece of graphite is the way he is. They judge without thinking or listening based upon looks, not based on personality. For even the smallest and most worthless piece of coal can be the kindest and most inspirational person you ever met, and that is where their worth is.

Light. Darkness. Light. Darkness. Luc struggled to open his eyes as the cycle continued. Light. Dark. Light. He managed to hold his squinting eyes open and jumped as he saw a comedy/tragedy mask staring down at him. “Morning, sunshine!” Miz yanked Luc to his feet and Luc immediately crumpled back to the ground. “Oh come on, I know transmission is rough the first time but it doesn’t break your bones. Now get up, we have things to do.” Miz held out his hand to Luc, who took hold of it weakly. Miz helped him to his feet and put Luc’s arm around his neck as they began to walk. Luc looked around, still in a daze. “Wait, what’s ‘transmission’?” “It’s pretty much teleporting. Pretty cool, right?” “I guess, but what’s the difference?” “The difference is, shut the hell up. You wanna argue with magic?” Luc looked at the ground. Is he ever going to win an argument with this guy? His vision started clearing up from its former blurriness and he slowly realized they were in the middle of nowhere. The moon and the stars hung peacefully in the night sky, but down here there was only a desert. The most exciting thing he could see were a few sand dunes in the distance. Whoop-de-doo. “So, uh,” Luc continued to look around, still confuse. “Where are we going?” “The Shroud’s super-secret secretive secret base of super-secret hidden secretive secret secritude.” Luc looked at Miz blankly. Miz looked back at him and shrugged. “It’s pending approval, alright? Gimme a break.” Luc was about to laugh, but suddenly flashes of what he’d seen at the farm blinded him. All of the other masked figures that Miz is associated with, the girl-Vic was her name?- that tried to make a move on him, his parents…brutally murdered bodies right next to him.
The bustling city, filled with rich history Home of royalty, commoners, and Olympians A spotlight shown on it when the days got warm and long The streets were flooded with people from all corners of the world And those who were not able to attend, watched in their own homes As night fell and the arena filled, all eyes were on the city of London The Olympians paraded into the arena All proudly representing their countries People all over the world watched as the history of the small but powerful country was depicted through performances. The sporting events ran throughout the month of July and into the month of August. I personally watched some event every day, personal favorite was the men’s diving Their gracefulness as soaring through the sky after jumping off the platform The athleticism of all the athletes was incredible Gold metals, silver metals, and bronze metals were awarded America ended up on the top of the metal count for all the countries. The Olympics highlighted the world’s best athletes in the world’s best city Tears shed and dreams reached, the Olympics ended just as magnificently as they started England showed their talent at the closing of the Olympics in mid-August England was highlighted throughout the month of the Olympics
This started by describing the beautiful city of London But it seems that it is impossible to talk about London without mentioning the Olympics The architecture it added to the city will stand forever, reminding the world of the Summer Olympics of 2012
Nature can produce miraculous things that we can sometimes overlook in our everyday lives. The way leaves blow across the ground or the sound of birds softly singing in the tress are aspects of nature that we all witness every day. Although, sometimes we fail to stop and observe the beauty that occurs constantly around us. I am just as susceptible to the next person when concerning rushing through life and missing the exquisiteness that nature can offer; however, I always make sure I appreciate Earth right after snow has fallen. This is my favorite feature of nature that can occur. I especially love when snow has constantly and steadily been falling throughout the night. When you wake up very early when the sun is just starting to provide light onto everything that was previously veiled in darkness and glance outside, the entire world is blanketed with a thick and plush covering of snow. The magical quality that I find is how it seems as if all the sounds are muffled and muted. I love the way that when you walk outside, the soft sounds of your footsteps in the newly made snow seem to be captured by the crisp atmosphere, causing the sound to dissipate into silence. I also appreciate the aura of purity and clarity that comes with a world after snow has fallen. Everything seems cleansed and clean, like all of the imperfections and damages that people have brought upon the environment disappear because of the layer of white. Everything seems softer. The outlines of the world seem to dissolve and fuse together. The air smells clean and fresh, like the world is being made anew again. For me, I obtain new feelings of optimism and positivity. I realize that sometimes we can all forget to witness the miracles that nature can offer, but I always make sure to appreciate the beauty that is created when snow has fallen.
I began flying toward the heavens on my purple elephant. His long trunk was flapping back and forth in the wind. I couldn’t see where we were going since we were surrounded by clouds. The air was cold yet it was still refreshing as it brushed against my skin. Harry, my purple elephant, was small compared to other normal elephants. We met in the African jungles. I was on an expedition to find this old relic, and that’s where I found him. On the outside of the tunnel was a walking purple elephant. From that moment on he followed me where ever I went. Me and Harry were about to reach space itself. I actually didn’t know how I was still able breath in the outer atmosphere of the earth but I was. The air began to get really cold that frost began to form on Harry and me. I pulled out my iPhone to take a video of our journey. It was going to be an amazing video that I would put on Facebook and twitter and everything, but then we began to fall. Harry just stopped rising in the sky and we began to plummet towards the ground. I began to panic and so did Harry. I don’t know what happened to us but we were falling and about to hit the land. And then we did. We became just a purple spot on the ground for everyone to see. Now everyone will know about the purple elephant and me.
We made it to the big game. All the hard work is finally paying off. The season was a long and tough one that had its up and downs. In the beginning people said we were a year away from being any good, they said we were a team that would finish with a few more wins than losses. They said that there was no leader and quarterback to drive our team. After a few games into the season we managed to silence all the critics we had. I became our leader on Defense and had a true freshman step up as our quarterback on offense. We slowly began to climb our way into the standings and then we had our toughest of the year. We were ranked 7 and they were ranked 17 and their losses were both to top ten teams and they were all within one score. We didn’t have our best game on offense but our defense played an amazing game and we ended up in overtime up by a touchdown and they had 4th and goal and we stopped them cold. In the next 3 games one was a blow out, one was won by a field goal, and the other was one in triple overtime. Finally we entered the last game of the season undefeated with a shot to play in the national championship. If we won we got in to the big game. We won the game with ease because the starting quarterback was not playing for their team. Now we made are in the big game verses the biggest power house in college football right now and all I can say is ROLL DAMN IRISH
My free write is about a man who is 5 feet tall and 11 inches tall. He is a man who lives in a town called Dunellen. A town where everybody knows but there is one man who is told to be the man who has the best hats ever. His hats are like no other and nobody could ever wear them like him. He is always seen with a hat on; nobody has ever seen the top of his head because he always has a hat on. It is said that one time when he was seen without a hat is when he tripped and fell and whoever saw him without the hat on he attacked the person and killed them. He is that serious about wearing a hat because one day he was a Dunellen high school football game and the announcer asked if everybody could stand for the song and please to remove their hats and he stood but he didn’t take off his hat and everybody just stared at him wondering why he didn’t take off his hat but nobody knows the true story why he always wears a hat. Except for now because I know the reason why, the reason why he always wears a hat is because. He was given a hat by his mother and father at a very young age around 4 or 5 years old I believe. Then one day when they took a vacation to Jersey shore his mom and dad went missing. They disappeared on a boat while they were on a date. Nobody knows how far or how they disappeared. So since then he decided always to wear a hat, if it’s a new or old hat but he decided to always wear one to let his mothers and fathers legacy live on.
Pain is contagious. Not in the sense that you can catch it like a cold, but in the sense that once pain starts, it affects everyone and everything around it. From a crippling, physical ache to emotional woe, passing it on to others is entirely inevitable. Every human being has felt pain multiple times in their life. Often it comes from within but the true source of misery is spread from one to another through no other than love. There is nothing in this world more truly heart-wrenching than witnessing the suffering of a loved one. All sufferers in this world, whether they are men or women, adults or children, have at least a single person out there with even an ounce of care for them. Although the pain these sufferers are experiencing can range to the most extreme cases of misery, nothing compares to the emotional and sometimes physical damage that strikes those that care most about them. The pain of the sufferer becomes the magnified pain in those watching over, unable to make a difference in the fate of their loved ones. “I would help you if I could,” they swear. “I wish there were something that would allow me to help you!” But the truth in the matter is that the lovers of the sick and the sad and the injured are nothing but innocent victims of their compassion. Those that love are courageous, trapping themselves in pain without any reward at all. They caught the pain, and it will spread.
A low beep snapped me out of my reverie and a smile spread across my face. It was time. In my hand, I instinctively began to dial the number of a good friend on my cellphone. I lifted it to my ear and it rang… once… twice... There was a click, and I began to speak. “It has arrived.” There was a moment of silence on the other end. “The briefcase?” a woman’s voice asked. “Yes,” I reply. “So it has begun,” she says slowly. “At last.” “I’m on my way back to the states.” “Good. We’re going to need you.” I hung up the phone, and stood from the chair in the empty room that I had been sitting in. The walls of the room were made of stone, and the floor was made of wood. It was a small room, just a tad bigger than the average closet. But it was the place where I could spend time thinking, undisturbed. I walked over to the door, and opened it. The moment the door opens, I hear a wooshing sound and the loud thunk of metal hitting wood. Wide-eyed, I looked to my left and saw that freshly imbedded into the wall next to me was a small dagger. I removed it from the doorway, and looked at it for a second. I knew this dagger, I realized with a smile. I closed the wooden door, and then reached out and grabbed a large metal door, which I enclosed the room with. There were a few clicks as the metal door locked into place, and my personal safe was sealed. I walked forward, and the bookshelf next to me registered my exit on its motion sensor and automatically slid forward to close off my sanctuary, making it hidden from sight. “So you’re not dead?” I said to the man who was standing across the library, staring at me. He continued to stare at me for a while, and then shook his head. “No,” he said, his deep Russian accent piercing the silence. “Those rumors were spread to keep the Germans off of my tale. The US is the last safe place, you know. In the places Germany has not conquered in name, the German regime has more influence over the people than the government does. Not that I’m complaining, since Hitler is no longer But the threat of nuclear war still keeps them away from the US.
Lying here still just waiting for sleep to come time crawls bye like a snail I grow tenser and tenser every minute tossing and turning I want to jump out and run like the wind but there is nowhere to go there is nothing to do but just lie here waiting for morning to come The clock on the wall chimes bong, bong, bong please stop I can’t stand anymore I need it quiet Think soothing thoughts think happy thoughts nothing happens the same line of a song plays in my head over and over and over again I just want this night to end I feel so alone there is no one to talk to accept maybe irritable people I wake What time is it now What day is it now I feel nothing but trapped now trapped in this time warp And there is no way out Accept for sleep that will not come I’ll do anything now Take a pill take two pills take all the pills in the world the next thing I know it is morning I don’t remember what happened a few minutes ago did sleep come without me knowing now I’m just a bystander living in the day but just observing and not all there
What is it with people that they always want to make things exciting? Even things that shouldn’t be exciting are made to be exhilarating because we have an insane appetite for it. When we take a shower we have to listen to music. When we brush our teeth we have to manage it with only one hand because we feel the need to use the other to update our twitter page in the process. “Brushing my teeth.” For example, I went to get lunch the other day and we only have about thirty minutes to get it before we have to return back to school for our next classes. We decided to go to a great burger place that we all knew would be delicious no matter what. However, this place would give us only about five minutes to spare if everything went to plan. So we had to decide if the risk was worth the reward. We decided that it was. But when we first left we knew that this was going to be close. We ended up returning to the school with maybe two minutes to spare, but with delicious burgers in hand. Was it worth it? Yes it was. But we could have easily gone anywhere minutes closer and not had to worry about the danger of being late. This danger, I think, makes the burger taste that much better and in turn makes the trip worth it. We could have played it safe and got a boring lunch that has no story behind it or we could go for it all.
S¬he looked at the world through narrow binoculars. She could see everything she wanted that way, from the way the clouds gently sailed through the sky, the way the grass sometimes danced in the breeze, or the way the birds nonchalantly relaxed in the trees. She could even feel the cool wind play in her hair or feel the fresh kisses of the sun if she wanted. If there was anything she ever needed to see, she could see it through the binoculars. For what was beyond them, was unspeakable. Beyond her limited vision were rainclouds crowded in a dark sky, grass beginning to yellow with decay, or birds that had fallen from their hovering homes. Beyond the binoculars, the wind sometimes became sharp, frigid, and menacing. The sun beat down on the sins of those who were guilty, making them sweat. Beyond the binoculars, life expanded from the lovely, beautiful things to the harsh, not-so-beautiful things. It crossed over the pretty, little lies to the ugly, big truths—which of course were the least pleasant to see, especially for her. At one point, she had been one of those people who had seen without binoculars. She would walk through the world, with big, open eyes, until she had realized the gloomy rain, the fierce wind, the intimidating sun. However, as she now gazed at life through narrow binoculars, she saw something she didn’t like for the first time. She saw deception—the biggest trick of them all. She had believed in beauty for so long, yet everything she was running away from was still there.

He decided it is his time
No one loved him
No one cared about what he did
They ridiculed him
For whom he chose to kiss
It was his life to live
He should have been left to be
But it was not meant to happen
He would be tormented for it
They led him to this point
It is now time
His head is in the noose
The stool tips over
As his life is no longer able to last
He is never to breathe again
But left to sway in the wind
No safe Haven
A home is meant to be a haven
But for some that is not the case
The place is coursing with anger
The scent of fear coats the walls
Tears soak the carpeting
Dried blood stains cover the floor
Violence is one of the many problems
The father beats the children
The mother drinks to block their screams
Her eyes are closed to their suffering
The children cover up the scars they carry
Afraid to lose their family
It may be a terrible family
But it is the only one they know
Again the father beats the children
This time it is different though
The youngest won’t stop crying from it
So he keeps beating it
The child dies
Rage consumes the eldest son
He ends the father
Realizing this is not what a family should be
Dispensing true justice
For all the suffering that has been caused
i love your writing!
DeleteI look at you and I can feel my heart melt
ReplyDeleteI feel my insides shoot to the moon
It bounces around and has fun
It explores a new world where
There is nothing that can hurt you
Once I can see that I was deep in trouble
I was blindfolded and I needed to walk through a forest alone
It gets lonely and you get scared
All you can hear is the crackling of the twigs around you
You jump back and feel something crawl up your body
The only thing is that you know there is nothing on you
It’s just your imagination
The imagination turns into your worst enemy
Fear trembles the body
But then you hear that voice
That warms the heart
The voice where all those things that scared you at one point no longer exist
This voice reassures you that there is no need to be scared
That they are there for you no matter what
They will not let you down
They will pick you up when you need it
They reach and take off the blindfold
You see the place where you thought was so scary is a place where there isn’t a thing to harm you
It smells of just pure joy
It has all those things that you like
You turn around to see it’s the person you heart has always wanted
Yes, everything is not always going to be happy
But this person showed you even in your rough times they will be there for you
Because they love you
And they won’t disappoint
No, don’t doubt your heart
Just follow its path
The heart wants the best for you because it doesn’t deserve to hurt anymore
You don’t know the pain the heart has gone through
For you can be happy
Now go on and be happy
Dear Love,
ReplyDeleteYou think you’re always right but sometimes there comes a time where you sit in your room and cry to sleep, because you left the one you love behind.
ReplyDeleteThe school had been shut down for a week and this was the first time I was setting foot onto the school grounds since the shooting. I mean I know what you saw and it must be hard to come back to this school.”
ReplyDelete“Jeremy, you’re the only one I have told about this. No one else knows that I witnessed this or even remember that I was the one trying to stop her.” I said all this to him in a whisper. “I’ll be fine.”
“I know you’re not okay Kara,” He said to me. Although he was my younger brother at times he acted like my older brother, after all, he definitely looked like my older brother. He was only a sophomore in high school yet, he looked older than me as a senior. “I still think you should go and talk to someone.”
“Jer, I’m fine.

ReplyDeleteBetrayal; One word that can change the way a person feels about another. Thank you
ReplyDeleteWhen a child is young and is in the process of growing up they have a large group of friends, partially because making and keeping friends weren’t that difficult.
ReplyDelete“So what exactly happened in this dream you had?” she asked softly, or at least it sounded soft in my mind.
ReplyDeleteI folded my arms across my stomach as I lay on the couch.
These eyes have seen the truth
ReplyDeleteAll the things that were supposed to be covered
Every single lie that was supposed to hide in the dark has found a way out
And they shined
They shined brightly in a neon way that burned into me and changed my sight
These ears have heard it all
Every sugar coated lie and small fib was accepted
They were all accepted without a second thought
And now these ears won’t hear it anymore
This mouth that once ran a mile per minute
Not being able to hold back the feelings that were inside
Ready in a second to tell “someone” how I really felt
It now learned that some secrets shouldn’t be let out
It learned that some things can be deadly in the wrong hands
Most importantly this heart that used to love freely
This heart that was fooled by
Sweet words
Empty promises
Kind gestures
Has now felt the pain
This heart has been broken and is slowly taking time to rebuild
This foolish heart of mine will no longer tolerate tricks
And this is all because this heart has felt the pain
It has felt the burn that seems to have left a huge scar deep within it
This pain cannot be forgotten and this heart will do a good job of remembering that
But now know that everything has changed
These eyes will no longer be blinded by the world
Instead it will look through all the smoke that could be blown it’s way
My sight has been changed and most definitely heightened
These ears shall not accept sugar coated lies fibs or whatever you wish to call them
My old ears have been replaced with new ones that can tune out the BS and only look for the truth
This mouth has learned to stay shut more often
It has been renewed and now understands that a filter is needed for life
Some things must be held back from those who don’t deserve it
And to top it all off this heart has been changed in a completely new way
Now this heart won’t be fooled and neither will the rest of me

Light. Darkness. Light. Darkness.
ReplyDeleteLuc struggled to open his eyes as the cycle continued.
Light. Dark. Light.
He managed to hold his squinting eyes open and jumped as he saw a comedy/tragedy mask staring down at him.
“Morning, sunshine!”
Miz yanked Luc to his feet and Luc immediately crumpled back to the ground.
“Oh come on, I know transmission is rough the first time but it doesn’t break your bones. Now get up, we have things to do.”
Miz held out his hand to Luc, who took hold of it weakly. Miz helped him to his feet and put Luc’s arm around his neck as they began to walk. Luc looked around, still in a daze.
“Wait, what’s ‘transmission’?”
“It’s pretty much teleporting. Pretty cool, right?”
“I guess, but what’s the difference?”
“The difference is, shut the hell up. You wanna argue with magic?”
Luc looked at the ground.
“Where are we going?”
“The Shroud’s super-secret secretive secret base of super-secret hidden secretive secret secritude.”
Luc looked at Miz blankly. Miz looked back at him and shrugged.
“It’s pending approval, alright? Gimme a break.”
Luc was about to laugh, but suddenly flashes of what he’d seen at the farm blinded him. All of the other masked figures that Miz is associated with, the girl-Vic was her name?- that tried to make a move on him, his parents…brutally murdered bodies right next to him.
The bustling city, filled with rich history
ReplyDeleteHome of royalty, commoners, and Olympians
A spotlight shown on it when the days got warm and long
The streets were flooded with people from all corners of the world
And those who were not able to attend, watched in their own homes
As night fell and the arena filled, all eyes were on the city of London
The Olympians paraded into the arena
All proudly representing their countries
People all over the world watched as the history of the small but powerful country was depicted through performances.
The sporting events ran throughout the month of July and into the month of August.
I personally watched some event every day, personal favorite was the men’s diving
Their gracefulness as soaring through the sky after jumping off the platform
The athleticism of all the athletes was incredible
Gold metals, silver metals, and bronze metals were awarded
America ended up on the top of the metal count for all the countries.
The Olympics highlighted the world’s best athletes in the world’s best city
Tears shed and dreams reached, the Olympics ended just as magnificently as they started
England showed their talent at the closing of the Olympics in mid-August
England was highlighted throughout the month of the Olympics
This started by describing the beautiful city of London
But it seems that it is impossible to talk about London without mentioning the Olympics
The architecture it added to the city will stand forever, reminding the world of the Summer Olympics of 2012
Nature can produce miraculous things that we can sometimes overlook in our everyday lives.
ReplyDeleteI began flying toward the heavens on my purple elephant.
ReplyDeleteWe made it to the big game.
ReplyDeleteMy free write is about a man who is 5 feet tall and 11 inches tall.
ReplyDeletePain is contagious.
ReplyDeleteA low beep snapped me out of my reverie and a smile spread across my face. It was time. In my hand, I instinctively began to dial the number of a good friend on my cellphone.
ReplyDeleteI lifted it to my ear and it rang… once… twice... There was a click, and I began to speak. “It has arrived.”
There was a moment of silence on the other end. “The briefcase?” a woman’s voice asked.
“Yes,” I reply.
“So it has begun,” she says slowly.
“At last.”
“I’m on my way back to the states.”
“Good. We’re going to need you.”
I hung up the phone, and stood from the chair in the empty room that I had been sitting in.
A Long and restless Night
ReplyDeleteLying here still
just waiting for sleep to come
time crawls bye like a snail
I grow tenser and tenser every minute
tossing and turning
I want to jump out
and run like the wind
but there is nowhere to go
there is nothing to do
but just lie here
waiting for morning to come
The clock on the wall chimes
bong, bong, bong
please stop
I can’t stand anymore
I need it quiet
Think soothing thoughts
think happy thoughts
nothing happens
the same line of a song
plays in my head
over and over and over again
I just want this night to end
I feel so alone
there is no one to talk to
accept maybe irritable people I wake
What time is it now
What day is it now
I feel nothing but trapped now
trapped in this time warp
And there is no way out
Accept for sleep
that will not come
I’ll do anything now
Take a pill
take two pills
take all the pills in the world
the next thing I know
it is morning
I don’t remember what happened
a few minutes ago
did sleep come
without me knowing
now I’m just a bystander
living in the day
but just observing
and not all there
What is it with people that they always want to make things exciting?
