  2. Shawn grabbed the duffel bag he was told to bring and ran out the door. He didn’t want to be late or he was going to get in trouble. Sal also was getting the final things he was asked to bring. They were both very worried, they didn’t know what to expect. Both men arrived to the site at the same time. They got out of there cars and walked to the designated location.

    Shawn,“The sun is almost down.”

    Sal, “Won’t be long now.”

Shawn, “Why does it have to be dark?”

Sal, “ Ask him when he gets here.”

    Shawn, “Are you ready?”

    Sal, “ No are you?”

The sound of a car came screeching towards the two men.

“Well here he is, whispered Shawn.”

A tall dark haired man with a business suit and leather gloves on walked close to the men.
“Why hello boys.” He said in a stern but comical voice.

“Big Jim,what do we need to do,” Sal said almost jumping out of his skin with fear.

Big Jim as the men called him was a tough mob boss who no one wanted to mess with. The men were order to help him with a task, and you most certainly do what he tells you. Big Jim opened the trunk of his black car and there laid a dead man.

Sal and Shawn had some idea that this had to do with a dead body but just actually seeing it made it so real.

“Did you bring what I told you?” Jim demanded.

    Sal answered, “Yes we did.”

The two men were ordered to pick the body out of the trunk and wrap it in the roll of plastic wrap they were told to bring. Next they had to take the shovels and did a large hole in the middle of the field they were standing in. Big Jim got back in his car and drove away. Leaving the men to bury the body, still in complete confusion and shock. What did they get themselves into is all they could think.
They felt so guilty for what they did but could not turn Big Jim in or they would be the ones getting buried, and that’s not what they wanted.

Sal and Shawn were just forced to live with the guilt for the rest of their lives or until someone had found the body. They felt the worst for the victim’s family and that was something they had to live with forever knowing that they helped kill an innocent man with a family.

  3. Calvin Nemeckay-Part 2
Duncan stood up and looked over at their completed setup; an altar of sorts. The grass around it was now a dark purple, and the moon was becoming masked by dark clouds that seemed to hang in the sky.

“Are you ready?” he asked, looking at Simon.

His friend gulped. “No. Are you?”

Duncan nodded, and proceeded to their makeshift altar to begin reading from the guidebook. Simon stayed back, looking on the scene with hesitation. Duncan continued the passage in the ancient tongue it was written in, and a slight drizzle began to fall from the sky. Then, the wind picked up, making the drizzle, which quickly escalated to rain, seem to pour sideways. A wolf howled in the distance. At this point, Simon was standing, petrified, just beyond the reach of the purple grass, which seemed to be glowing now. The campfire was out, but it was still bright all around. Finally, lightning struck and thunder crashed, far at first, but it seemed to be getting much closer by the minute. The wind howled in a circle around the area, and leaves and twigs were being hurled every which way. At last, the lightning struck the altar, and all was silenced. The guidebook was burned where the lightning had struck, and Duncan stood back.

“...Did we do it?” Simon asked, after a minute.

    “...I...I don’t know, Sy.”

Then, quietly at first, but rapidly increasing, a low humming was heard. The pitch almost hurt to listen to, and seemed to be coming from right underneath them. When it almost became too much to bear, the ground underneath the purple grass collapsed in on itself, taking Duncan with it.

“Dunc!” Simon screamed into the hole. But Duncan was nowhere to be seen. Instead, a large pool of semi-transparent purple liquid sloshed about underneath him in an unsettling way. It wasn’t calm, but there was no longer any wind. It seemed very unnatural. Simon looked on with a horrified gaze, watching little pieces of dirt fall into the pool and instantly vanish. It would seem that they hadn’t summoned him after all. They had only opened his front door.

  4. “I can’t do this,” I confide in Belle, “The woods are scary enough but he wants to wait until dark?” I trip over another tree root and almost drop all of the supplies. She doesn't need to turn around to know that I’m fine. She and the rest of our coven, have their special abilities...unlike me. It was just my luck that I’m born the powerless runt. While I’m breathing hard from all the effort, her body moves like a feather in the wind. “Belle, where’s the clearing? Please can we just stop and think this over one more time?” She stops in her tracks detecting panic in my voice. “Claire, you need your powers. Mama J said there was trouble coming. I suspect they’ll go after our weakest link; protecting you is our weakness. But if you can protect yourself, we can be strong.” I sigh and sit for a moment. I hate it when I’m referred to as the weak link or the weakness. I may not have powers but I've taken plenty self-defense classes. “I can take care of myself without magic! Blood sacrifice, Belle, really?!” She looks at the sky and says, avoiding my question, “It’s not far, we should hurry and wait there.” She moves on without me but I don’t stop pestering her, “Belle, you haven’t even finished your training! You don’t know anything about this guy or this spell.” She answers me with silence. I let out a frustrated sigh, “What if I don’t even want this?” That gets a reaction, “Do you think I want to kill something!? NO, but I will for you. You’re my sister and there’s a war coming. This isn't going to be a war where fancy punches and kicks save your life,” she stops shouting when we reach the clearing. I glance up and my face drops, “The sun’s almost down.” She nods and puts her bag on the ground,”Won’t be long now,” she lays out our sheet. I place candles in a circle, on it and light them, “Why do we have to wait until it’s dark?” Belle moves towards the middle of the candles and sits so gracefully that the flames don’t even flicker. Her face looks worried but her eyes shine with determination, “Ask him when he gets here,” she replies. I take her hands as I sit across from her; they’re soft from lack of manual labor. After tonight they’ll be stained red because of me. “Are you ready?” I ask, squeezing her hands. For the first time, I don’t get an older sibling type response, “No. Are you?” Am I ready to finally get my powers? More than ever. Am I ready to ruin her like this? No. I look down at my crossed legs and focus on the rips in my jeans. My eyes travel up to our hands, holding each other for dear life. They continue to Belle’s face; her hair is black and rests around her face in wild curls. Her eyes are a warm brown that are unable to hold onto negative energy. How are those eyes going to kill something? “No,” I finally answer. A gust of wind blows out our candles so we just sit in the moonlight and wait. I memorize this picture; my last moment of dependence and Belle’s last moment of innocence.

  5. “Of course I am! I’ve been waiting for this for a long, long time...” Said Tythar. “Just dont jump the gun until he gets here. He said we need to wait until its dark so we dont get caught.” Said Braltar, next to Tythar, hidden in the dense chrome forests. As they were hidden in the unmoving foliage, Tythar peeked through, and saw a large, golden mansion, glistening in the setting suns beams. Inside the windows of this lavish mansion could be seen the many rooms within. Tythar gripped the chrome leaves, grinning underneath his white mask.
They remained hidden for several more hours, until the sun finally set, and the red, blue, and green moons rose into the sky. “Its night. Where is he?” Said Tythar, slowly rising up. Braltar grabbed Tythars shoulder, pulling him down. “Calm down. I know you have a vandetta against this guy. But this isnt an assassination attempt. Just wait and let him explain our mission.” Said Braltar. They remained hidden for what felt like hours, until they heard a quiet shuffling nearby. Tythar readied himself, pulling out what looked like a flintlocke pistol with a neon green barrel. “Im suprised you both waited here for as long as you did, especially Tythar.” said the voice. Tythar sighed, and hid his weapon, as a man wearing a black trenchcoat, hat, and glasses appeared. “Luminus. Whats our task?” Said Braltar, fixing his white mask. “Your task is a simple one. Go in, retrieve the document from within the Cache of Lights, and get out. Without causing too much trouble.” As Luminus said this, he glared at Tythar. “Dont worry.” Tythar said, grinning. Tythar and Braltar pressed a button on their wrists, and they were rendered completely invisible. “One more thing. Those light-nullifiers only last 2 minutes before they need to recharge for about 5, so use them sparingly.” Said Luminus. There was a shuffling where Tythar and Braltar were, and instantly, Luminus was alone. He fixed his glasses, and dissapeared into the chrome forest.
A few minutes went by, and Tythar and Braltar were atop the golden mansion. “How do we get in without causing alarm…?” Said Braltar. “We could use the “subtle” approach..” Said Tythar. He pressed a button on his wrist, and a neon blue laser shot out. “Hm.. going in through the roof and making our way down? That could work.” Said Braltar. Tythar grinned, and started to cut a hole large enough for them to enter through. Once he cut the hole, he grabbed the bit of roof before it fell down, and placed it on the roof where they were. Tythar jumped down first, and Braltar went in after. They looked around, noticing the large number of bunk beds, neon green flintlocke pistols, swords, rifles, and gold and black clothes. “Hm. This must be the barracks for the guards..” Said Tythar. “Then lets get out of here before any of them decide to call it a night early.” Said Braltar. They snuck around, looking for an exit when they found a bright purple cut out of a door in the far corner of the room. Tythar cracked it open, and peeked through. Directly infront of the room were two guards, wielding a long rifle with a neon green barrel. “Damn.” Tythar whispered after closing the door. “Theres two guards right there..” Braltar started to shake from fear. “Calm down. I know you’re just a novice, but nerves get you dead in this occupation.” Tythar pressed a button on his wrist, and a small neon pink barrel came out from his wrist. He cracked open the door once more, and shot two small darts at the guards, turning them both into chrome statues. Tythar and Braltar quickly took their bodies into the barracks, and placed them on two different beds. “How long do the tranqs last?” Said Braltar. “We’re fine. Once they turn back to normal, they’ll be in a mini-hibernation state. They’ll wake up in 12 hours and they wont remember a thing.” Said Tythar. After they placed the bodies on the beds, they snuck out from the barracks, and looked around them. There was no other way to go, only a set of platinum stairs heading down. “Down we go.” Said Tythar.
