Final Review Day 6:

The format is Ottava Rima.  You must construct two

19 comments:

  1. Quickly she changed who she was
I didn’t know the real her anymore
We talk, we play around, but at the end we fuss
Fighting like we was at war
I really don’t know what’s going on anymore
She changed, there’s no more trust
I thought it was only us
But time still ticking and our love is getting less.
He stood there tall and proud
    Made people change
He change the country, he was meant to be found
He won, but it was strange
Finally we have a black president
    He’s about to be crowned
    His name is Obama
Yes we can, Yes we can, lets hold hands and stop this drama.

  2. Sitting here looking into the night
With the moon up in the sky
Up behind the clouds shining bright
    Wondering how high
Knowing that it was such a sight
Wishing you were able to fly
Suddenly you wake up and stop dreaming
Than realize and you start seeing

  3. At first I never thought it would come to this
So many memories we have created
Years together, something I’m going to miss
Can you believe that we actually made it?
At the end everyone in here is dismissed
I have to say this was the best year, I admit
Senior year, class of two thousand and thirteen
It’s been real, it just seems like a really big dream

First thing is first, we both have to run and hide
We don’t want them to find us, it’s not our turn
They can’t find us, wait, that little boy just cried?
They are trying so hard, should we just return?
Let’s go and show ourselves, let’s go outside
The rules of the game I will teach and they’ll learn
A little boy crying, not making things fun
What a beautiful Saturday just gone

  4. I hear a strange sound on the 1st floor
    It’s not the floor cracking
    I quickly open the door
    And he comes in attacking
I stab him with a knife, its guts galore
    Now his heart is attacking
    Don’t mess with me
I’ll stomp on you like a flee

    The sky is blue
    The street is black
The traffic isn’t looking to true
You might want to go back
    The gum you chew
    Tastes like crap
    Do whatever you want
    You should not

  5. A creek that sounds throughout the house
Moves all in and out of the rooms
Sudden bursts of silence create a fear filled emotion that can even stop a mouse
An eerie sound is heard and wakes the spirits from their tombs
They rise and come to stick to you like a louse
Scary part of it all is they cannot be seen by any light not even the moon’s
You can try your best to hide
But they will still find you and slowly creep their dark spirits inside

The clock ticks slowly as a deep reminder
The coldness starts to sink in as my hand begins to shake
Our eyes connect but yours’ seemed to have glassed over as if they’ve become blinder
The breathe in my throat has paused and waits to wake
Maybe something more brutal will be kinder
For the now the crimson dripping is all I can take
For you this could have been inviting
Death is now considered your silver lining

  6. In the night there’s a scream in the distance
A scream that no one can hear
A shudder that returns with persistence
    There comes the fear
    It is the shudder’s assistant
    Here comes my tears
    They sneak down my face
I am taken at their pace

My screams will not be heard
I am now in a dark alley
Watching you like a raven or like any other vicious bird
I am dragged into your valley
    Then I hear your word
I look to the person, to notice it was Allie
To this day I’m still not sure because it’s very blurred
    Memories that haunt my brain
All I remember is the haunted night into the nightmare lane

  7. I do believe that all pie is good pie
All the flavors baked into the warm crust
Forms a scent you’ll always want to walk by
Don’t forget the ice cream that’s a huge must
Eat all of it, and I will surely cry
Guard it with your life; you have my trust
The timer’s done so take it out to cool
Looking at the pie, I can’t help but drool

There is a man whose name was once Germain
He was never taught how to be polite
For him, life was always the exact same
He usually thinks best in moonlight
For once he wanted to play some games
    Somebody, anybody that’s alright
Let’s play monopoly, or even clue
Decide what to play it’s all up to you

  8. The fearless words said by one man
Put away to avoid his death
    A new god history began
Sealed in a cave to hide his breath
With a fake stone that was the plan
When he grew he would show his wrath
With a start of a legacy
His fight gave us the galaxy

To the children of my future
I won’t miss the day you are born
You will never feel my torture
Me and your mom will not be torn
When you feel alone ill be there
Having you in my arms I yearn
Even when you’re bad I will love you
My child I can’t wait to meet you

  9. 1. The bird whistles to the world as I sleep
Calls from above as I sleep on the ground
I rise as it flies away, and I peep
I hurry to catch up as my feet pound
I see a great, bright cobalt, and I leap
Into the forest we go with no sound
Below is green and above is cobalt
The feathers are gone and it’s not my fault

    2. Remember that life is like the ocean
And we are the boat, just drifting along
The waves will crash, setting us in motion
And they will take us to where we belong
Soon, we are filled with love and emotion
The one thing we have to do is stay strong
The waves won’t let you escape anymore
But if you’re guided, you can see the shore

  10. I’m minding my own business cutting grass
When I came on a sharp fragment of glass
The glass went through my shoe and peerced my skin
before I got it even farther in
I wripped it out and blood came gushing out
in anger I began to scream and shout
I through the sucker twenty feet away
It fell on the concrete and there it lay

When I resumed my work mowing the lawn
in front of the mower there was a fawn
I just couldn’t believe what I had seen
I was more mad than I had ever been
I had no time to wait for it to move
and laziness was all that it could prove

I charge at it with strong and viscious force
and at that moment I had no remorce
I went to cut a dead branch from a tree
the worst possible thing happened to me
the chainsaw had slipped right out of my grasp
the pain in my leg was making me gasp
When I looked down my foot was on the ground
it would be lost and never would be found

  11. The bird takes flight
    and the girl walks
the bird looks down on the sight
and the girl starts to talk
the bird reaches a new height
as the girl stares at a clock
the bird is free off the ground
while the girl is stuck and bound

The tiger leaps into the trees
and the girl stares in awe
the tiger is feeling the breeze
and the girl starts to draw
    the tiger looks free
and the girl looks at its paw
the tiger and girl are here
when the bird and girl are there

It seems there is a contrast
    between the animals and girl
    the girl cannot be vast
but the animal can go around in a twirl
    the girl is an outcast
when the animal is a beautiful pearl
    when animals are so beautiful
we shouldn’t give them such a struggle

    Family is amazing
    the games and talks
    I always am craving
to get back together and walk
    along the beach playing
with my little cousins watching birds squawk
it’s always fun to spend time with the family
it’s like hanging out with my buddies

    School is a break
    it’s a time to learn
    time to wake
    and play the horn
it’s the part of the year where you have to rake
and where you actually get worn
where you sit in a class room
    and you’re gloom

Summer time is the best time with the family
    it’s always good times
there is talking with your buddy
and the birds sound like the wind blowing the chimes
    Forget about alchemy
    and history and rhymes
    school is done
and now it’s time for fun!

  13. Can you solve the questions from yesterday’s class?
Can you solve the mystery of who took my fantasy?
The expectations placed on me has made me like glass
I’m cracking under the stress and it’s plain to see
Becoming what adults want, I can recite the formula to find mass
Yet I can’t even tell you what my childhood dreams would be
Can you tell me who made my dreams curl up and die?
Can you just tell me why I can’t even cry?

    ------------------------------------------------

Try to find some mercy within you
Please spare the innocent people below
How can you be so cruel as to
Destroy a whole town that is mellow
Is it possible that this is on cue?
That what people reap is what they sow?
    Please reconsider this rash act
And let us make with you a pact

  14. The man that stands behind the stairs
Can be the one who ends your life
Each day you chose to ignore his stares
At both you, sir, and your kind wife
When will you see the man
And that he has a plan

You live your life without fear
    Dancing to swing
    Greeting all the come near
You are not afraid of who comes most near
Do not check in that dark
This dog’s bite is worse than its bark

And comes a day when you meet your end
Searching for the broom behind the stair
And when your wife discovered you, she tried hard to pretend
That it was not the smell of death that ruined her home’s air
She wished that she had seen the knife
With the man who took her husband’s life

    She dreamed of day light
    Which she could not see
Locked in cage, deprived of flight
A caged beauty is all she’d be
But all she did was sing and sing
And joy to faces she would bring

She dreamed to one day escape this cage
To fly, be free and travel
If only she could find the rage
To dig straight through the gravel
    The ground under her feet
Is all that halted her fleet

She came one day to find her anger
Scratched and clawed her sweet escape
She found the world, she met a stranger
He changed this bird into an ape
    Suddenly she craved that cage
Just to leave this awful stage

  15. 1.I watch the wind rustle the flying kite
The sun is warming the earth and shining
I look and there is not a cloud in sight
The sky is clear with the sound of dining
The earth is alive with the touches of light
    Noises of excited children whining
I absorb the day and savor the sun
I know that the daytime will soon be done

2.The storm rumbles in the distance, it commences
    Nor'easters ravage whatever they reach
Structures fall along with their defenses
Ocean spray stings and torments the beach
    Extreme damage, raising the expenses
The angry, energized gales scream and screech
We wait for nature’s resentment to cease
We are prepared to repair, piece by piece

  16. Soaring in the sky is the mighty hawk
Its sharp, razor claws ready to capture
From high up, everything looks like beanstalk
Bigger than the hawk, there is the condor
Both hunters rise high above the skywalk
Both fly for hours for a home and dinner
Once they settle down, they protect their home
They no longer have to soullessly roam

When the moon shines bright upon the night sky
The fire starts the annual festival
On the table lies the pleasant pumpkin pie
The snowstorm is the town’s ultimate rival
Near the fire, the fishes are fried dry
    Celebrating this year’s harsh survival
The folks gather around to dance and eat
They hear the music and move to the beat
